I want to upgrade Xfree86 from 3.3.6 to the new 4.0.2.
What source should I add to my sources list to do this.
And what is the proper syntax to make it happen?
New Debian user here. Thanks for the help.

Simply add the ...unstable main contrib non-free to your main entries. Then just issue an apt-get update and apt-get install task-x-window-system and that should fix you up.
You also might want to try console-apt, it will list all of your currently installed packages, if they are the newest version or can be upgraded and all of the packages available that are not installed. (Yes, it even has descriptions for all of them)
Have fun ! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
