I want to use the version of kde that is on Knoppix looked around and found that it is Debian version of kde 3.0.4 is it posible to install thos .deb packages from a console in RH8??? Can I convert the Packages to .rpm??? Help needed.:confused:

i have one question. why?

You would be better off installing the rpm for kde, and then finding the theme that knoppix's kde uses and install that. otherwise, you're just going to open a can of worms.

its how the menus are set up and how it loads, if you can show me other wise ill just switch the THEME as you said...

ah. okies.

Well, alot of the menuing is done through the debian menu system, which again, probably would be painful to port (unless it already has been.) in debian, nearly every package has a menu file, that defines it. That's where all of that comes from.

But on the loading part, that would be all themes (unless i am missing something)

I just created my own theme and deleted that stupid redhat icon it wanted to know where it was so I replace it with someithing else. thank you
