Piece of cake, and we both have decent pipes, I was impressed at how quickly I got his desktop. Allowed me to do anything i tried, just as though I was there locally. We joined a chat server together, me from his box, and he from mine. VERY confusing, (there were 4 of us) but it worked fine. Ray ------------------ ray@raymondjones.net HTTP://www.raymondjones.net ph34r 01-13-2001, 01:07 PM I use it to get to my work machines (Win2k Pro and Server) from my linux box at home over my crappy sub-28.8 modem.. at 640x480 only tho. For similar effect, you can export a X session to any "display" anywhere via ssh. I've always just used ssh to do remote work on a linux box... iDxMan 01-13-2001, 02:40 PM What do you need to know about it? I've used WinVNC at work to display a desktop on various clients.. ie: Training sessions for a limited class.. -r yogee 01-13-2001, 02:50 PM Id sugest webmin before you do anything. Then get the vnc server installed and add the webmin module to have it start at ever reboot. http://www.tridiavnc.com/ ________________________________ http://www.thirdpartymodules.com/webmin/?page=Others VNC Client HTTP Jamie Cameron AT&T's VNC client applet in a webmin module. Requires the VNC server to be installed on your system. Works great! ------------------ What do you mean when you say edit? you can also get the webmin module to effortlessly install new rpm's and other addon modules. Play with it...works wonders.
