Does anybody have a driver for the 3c90x series of NICs for the 2.4 kernel. I perused all the sites I usually hit up and no luck.

Why is 2.4 sooooo short on drivers?

Short on drivers? That driver isn't included with 2.4.x? I don't have access to a 2.4 machine right now, but it's hard to believe the driver isn't included with the kernel.

There is a help button next to the different drivers in X config. At any rate, try:

modprobe 3c59x

that module should support the 3c900 series cards also.

thanks mindwarp . . .

To Reyeker:
I know, I was supprised as well. I find it a bit distressing as well. I recomend pulling down the kernel and just browsing if you don't believe me.

From what I understand, the kernel is undergoing several changes to better support smp systems (i think, don't quote me) as a result, some stuff has been rendered as obsolete, or so I was told.

You are saying you can't find the 3c905-b driver in 2.4? It is the 3c59x driver. It's there! My box has it, and it works great! I don't understand the problem?

Hmm, i haven't compiled since 2.4.0-test7, but it had the 3com stuff, and i recall I compiled it in, rather than a module. It offered the 3C905 as well as others. Ray
