I am looking in the near future to add some RAM to my computer and I know some Mobo's have a limit of RAM you can install. I am wondering if anybody can fill me in. I know this isn't really linux related, but I can't seem to find the info anywhere. Thanks guys.

My mobo: System Board K6XV3+/66 Rev. B+
That's all my Mobo manual says on the front. Any help?

Thanks,

The manual will also tell you the max RAM. If you have 3 slots the max will be 3x512=1536MBytes

What does it say 'inside'?

I've never seen a motherboard manual that does not tell you what type of memory it supports and the maximum amount allowed.

With questions about a mainboards capabilities e.g. its max memory, if it is not in your manual (unlikely) then go straight to the manufacturers website and even if it is not a current model they will still have all the specifications. Actually it is quite amazing the thihgs you learn about your mainboard that are sometimes not shown in the manual.

So I did look like a @ss even though what I suggested was correct? :(

The only stupid questions are the ones that someone needs to know and are NOT asked.

Never be afraid to ask.
