After compiling and installing 2.4, I lost my cd burner. Is there a module that needs to by compiled into the kernel to use a burner. Other that that, my kernel new works fine.

CMonster 01-13-2001, 12:12 AM If this is an IDE burner you need to have generic SCSI support in the kernel or installable as module, also your boot loader LILO/GRUB needs to be appended with "hXX=ide-scsi" (where hXX is your CDRW), chances are the append is still there. If your CDRW is in fact a SCSI drive then probably you did not configure SCSI properly when you did the make config ------------------ CMonster says, "You can't choose the right OS if you don't have a choice." justlinux.com
