Man, i installed Storm Linux last night, and i am one seriously impressed person now. As easy as of an install as my W2K install was, i basically just popped the CD i burned in, booted, ran thru the first few little "what language do you speak" questions (anyone ever find it ironic that those screens are always in ENGLISH?), and then went and ate some dinner. Came back, and it was ready to reboot, booted back into Linux, categorized my packages for apt-get, and that was it. It found every peice of hardware i had, i ran into no problems whatsoever installing it. I was pretty impressed with A.) The small installed size, ~740Megs, and B.) Every installed package was useful, none of the shovelware you get with Mandrake. The graphical LILO(or is it called Grub?) is a very nice touch. All told, the install took me about 40 minutes, of which 30 or so where with me sitting in the other room eating and watching TV.
All in all, coming from the fact that i am damn near a complete Linux newbie, I would tell anyone to recommend Stormix to anyone who is installing Linux for the first time. The front end they have for apt-get is really damn cool, as is the SAS utility. (think Control Panel in Windows)
This is the type of Distro that will win the Desktop for Linux. Very Damn Cool™
