Anybody know how I can find a Linux Users Group in Hartford CT? Nobody I already know understands me. I need geeks.

It would be real cool if there were one in Hartford. I live in that area too.

UCONN is just a few minutes from me. I live in East Hartford. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I hardly know anything about Linux, but I know PCs, and I know how to run a discussion group. I could handle the mail, phone calls, and email, and manage a web site for the group. I could also host meetings, so we got that part licked. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I don't want to reinvent the wheel. If there is a LUG I don't know of one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

I joined the local computer user's group, but all they want to talk about is Microsoft apps. They don't even discuss alternative OSs or hardware issues at all. I offered to start a hardware SIG, and nobody was interested. Pretty sad.

I want to learn Linux, but I'm having problems, and I want to hobnob with more experienced users. I just want to freakin' discuss it with somebody who's freakin' interested! I also want to watch experienced users using Linux to do basic things. I don't even know anybody who's using it who'll let me watch right now. Almost everyone I know is a Windows user, and they don't even like to discuss that.

I wouldn't mind a general interest club, but Linux is important. I'm interested in BeOS and other OSs too.
