Hi all,

I have a Win2k fileserver named "Wolverine" on my network. The directory "downloads" is shared with full permissions for user "penguin". There is a user account "penguin" with a password "linux" on the fileserver. I want to connect to "Wolverine" using my laptop "Storm".

What do I need to do to get a default install of Mandrake/Linux 8.0 to connect to "\\wolverine\downloads"? What services need to be running on "Storm"? Where will the drive be mounted? Do I need to create this directory before I try to connect?

I'm not sure if it is the same situation, but someone just posted a reply to me on how to map a Windows share from a linux box. Look of a message started by SYM about the networking.
