i have a 100mhz 64mb ram and 1.6gb hd packard bell wat would u guys reccomend the best linux system be for this (i like redhat the most so far) and see the thing is........... i inserted the cd in but it wont boot, the computers really old and i heard that older computers have great trouble with this, anyways i went to the bios setup and i saw that wthere was an option for the booting sequence it has drive a(floppy) and drive c(hard disk) but no drive D(cdrom)!!!!wat do i do?
i have a 266mhz desktop which ran very well for its speed, notice the past tense i was using it about 3 months ago the monitor blinked and the computer went out wat do u guys think happend ???? i checked the connections and all nothing....

I think your Pack Bell machine could be a problem. They used proprietary cdroms which need to have the drivers loaded before they will work. Even if you do get it going, I doubt that things will go very well getting everything to work right. Between both of your computers, you may have good boat anchor material.

i replaced the cdrom a while ago with a newer cd rom and wat do u mean about the boat dockin? can u help me with the problemat hand please

If your bios does not support booting from cd, then you have no choice but to create the bootdisks.
