Guess how I did it? I was browsing the contents of CD1 when I decided to view the contents of CD2. Having complete faith in the Supermount functionality, I pressed the eject button on my drive.

Everything got stuck for about 5 minutes! then no more cd-rom.

(strike one)
I get a message that I can't mount it or unmount it if I'm not root. I enter linuxconf and try mounting from there, same thing, nothing mounts or unmounts.

(strike two)
I can NOT open my drive bay, I don't have a dev/cdrom in etc/fstab according to Mandrake, but it's there...

(strike three)
I HAVE TO REBOOT THIS THING!!!!!!!

That does it, I'm going back to libranet and its pain in the *** stability...

Did you close the browser windows first? I have noticed that MDK is not very happy unless I close the window first..

Anyway, install kernel 2.4 and supermount will be history - I hear there is a supermount patch available for 2.4 but I kind of like it the way things are now. 2.4 boots in half the time and you can kiss that Aurora boot screen good-bye

After booting 2.4 just right-click and create a new link to the CDROM

hang in there, enjoy
