yea yea, i know, BeOS is dead. i'm just using BeOS to mess around w/. this is my problem, i can connect to everything in my local network, but i can't connect to anything outside of it. it's only BeOS. i'm using a linksys router, and my ethernet card is a Intel Pro 100. i have tried static and DHCP. so i don't understand what could be wrong. do you know what could be wrong?

Sounds like name resolution to me.

try to ping an IP address outside of your network. If that works then what is wrong is name resolution.

i can't ping also. i'm new to BeOS, so i have know idea what could be wrong.

hmm.... i used beos for a little bit...

did you try using each driver for your nic? i dont think there are many, my card was picked up right away.

forget about this post. i'm not going use BeOS, i'm fine w/ just Linux.
