i want to get aim and i use kde, so would i be able to install gaim for example in kde and would it work? like i would just install the tarball / rpm normally? thanks in advance for any help

The rpm is installed as usual. Necro Lin 08-16-2001, 04:59 PM If you're in gnome then almost all of your kde apps will run straight out of gnome and vice versa. To answer your question "probably". It depends on the app. It's worth a try. I use several different Gnome apps. with both: gftp gnumeric abiword I make a kde link on the desktop with an icon, and each program works well. You may need to have the GTK lib installed, but quite possibly, not. Someone with greater expertise will have to contribute on that point. Best regards. Mike justlinux.com
