Ok guys I have downloaded the 3 iso images from mandrake.com and verified that they are not currupt. I tried burning the image using the biult in windows xp burning software and it succeded but just burned a replica of the ISO image which i cant do anything with :(. Then i tried using my alcohol 120% software and just selected the normal cd setting but that too just burned me a blank cd :(. I really dont want to make anymore coasters. I am using 700 mb cd's and my iso's are:
711,264 kb ---disk one
716,352 kb ---disk two
467,296 kb ---disk three
Thx for any advice guys
Chris

Somewhere in your CD Burning software there should be an option to burn a CD from an Image File, which is what an ISO is. I'm not familiar with the burning software you are using, but I would be surprised if it didn't have that option. :D

I tried with the image wizard and it finds the Iso image and says it will burn it but to no avail :(. Another Coaster. How exactly can i check my images again, Maybe that is the problem but i thought they checked out.
Thx for any help

Ok i have a 600 mhz 256 ram running windows ME, I also have a 32 gb hd and a 5 gb hd. I downloaded all three cd's of mandrake 9.0 as stated above and used mdwatts's link above in order to verify ther md5sum's and all the images are perfect. Then i used the walkthrough and burned three mandrake discs from the iso which also went perfect. They show up and work as a boot disc, but during the first install phaase when it says that it is loading program into memory it says that "could not uncompress second stage ramdisk, probably a hardware error while reading the data could also be caused by a linux kernal bug". Any thoughts. Do i need to run fdisk or scan disk in windows before i run linux?
Thx for any help
