Not real sure why, but on a fresh install of SuSe 7.0, when i try to load XMMS, my screen goes black and i get the monitor error message "Monitor is working propery" "Out of scan range". I didnt know they were related?!?! When it happeneds i have no choice but to hit the almighty reset button and start again. I tried to get to the files in CLI but when ever i try anything even remotely to do with XMMS i get this problem. Id like to try to fix this problem but i cant even get close without it throwing a fit!! My monitor works fine in X and no other problems with 3D rendering except this one. Im at a loss http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/confused.gif

Easy.

rm -f /path/to/xmms

That should solve your problem.

***Sorry, couldn't resist***

Ok try and edit ~/.xmms/config where the line says enable_dga=TRUE
change to enable_dga=FALSE
if that doesn't work the other fix is to change a property of your window manager.The line is
USESAVEUNDERS=XXXX
make shure you put NO there if its yes.
Its in different places depending on which window manager you use so a little hunting will be in order.
