I tried copying the RedHat directory on the cd to my disk. I booted off the cdrom and typed "expert". I selected hard drive and pointed it to /dev/hda1/Redhat but it said it couldn't find the stuff. Any pointers?

Never tried to install Linux by copying the contents of the CD to my HD myself.

Why not just do the install from the CD?

Make sure hda1 is mounted correctly and the path is correct (might be case-sensitive).

If it is asking for where the RPMs are located, then give the appropriate path.

If that doesn't work, I don't know...maybe try copying the entire CD, not just the RedHat folder.
