I am having some problems getting SAMBA configured on my home network.

My network at present consists of 2 WIn2KPro machines, one dual boot Win2K/RedHat 8.0 (this one) and an XP box. I need to have this machine dual boot for AutoCAD unfortunately.

I have a DSL line, and that is connected to a Linksys 4 port router/switch that does my DCHP. Is this the reason why when I go to SWAT I can see the share fine, but when I go to another machine it is blind to it?

DHCP might be giving trouble, but:

- Can you see the Linux box at all from the Win machines, or is it not there at all?

- Is the workgroup name in smb.conf the same as that of the Windows boxen?

- Have you set up your Samba user accounts correctly?

- Have you given the users access rights to your Samba shares?

- Can you at least ping all of the boxes from each other?
