Strange Keyboard bug on Mandrake 2 letters????

ok, my name is James Mowery

But when i type this in Mandrake... if I type my last name, even a tiny bit fast it comes out 'moweery'

Can anyone explain this???

It happens on some other words as well. I never had a problem like this before lol.... my fast typing is causing problems for the almighty linux haha.

it's a quirk of some keyboards that when the key is not all the way down it sends off repeats

you can prob fix it with

xset r rate int1 int2

where int1 is the delay in milliseconds and int2 is the repeat rate

once you figure out what you need it to be you can put this into a startup script say your window manager startup or something or
make a simple alias for it so it's easy to get on.

if it's happening not in x but from the console i think you set it with setterm

Would you happen to know how to create a startup script for the settings of xset r rate 1500 1
