Why don't you read the instructions and e-mail him?

Okay, so I switch browsers (away from netscape and into ie5 -- windoze at work) at everything is fine.
I have posted from netscape every day from work to this board without any issues.
I don't have cookies enabled and my cache gets cleared every day.
WTF, gang. What do y'all think it could be?

I just think it's really weird that I can post new topics without a problem but cannot reply to topics nor edit my own original one.

Oh well.

I did try everything I could think of before going to the board. Sorry if I came across like a sour grape... I just couldn't understand what the heck was going on.

I suppose I still have to figure out what the problem is.

It happened to me once too, and it was nothing. I e-mailed Sensei about it, and I think it's what happens when two people try to post at the exact same time, though that may be wrong.

I used to get that message sometimes when using Junkbuster configured to send a bogus cookie. I would have to disble the proxie setting for Junkbuster to post here.

I think mindwarp is right.. it's a cookie issue.

Over the past year or so, the UBB code has really started to suck with all the "security enhancements" that've been added by the UBB developers. Under default settings, many browsers like Mozilla (unless it's been fixed) can't post because they don't send an HTTP referer header properly, and Junkbuster users who hide their referer header can't either. Fortunately that's been fixed on this UBB, although it's still the case on many others.

Well if you stop hacking the board then it wouldn't say that....JUST KIDDING http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif.

Like Craig said...its a security feature that was added on to this UBB. There were problems with some older versions that caused big headaches for everyone. However, I think its fixed.

An upgrade is coming...

Well, I changed browsers at work so I can post replies. Thanks for your answers, everyone.
It just all seemed so odd. And to think I was trying to escape some nagging hassles at work! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif
