Hi,

I have a friend (no, really!) who wants to record audio streams from the internet using Linux. I haven't done this before. I opened the stream in both xmms and realplayer without a problem, but when I attempt to record via gnome sound recorder, I get an error because the sound card is now alredy in use. How do you guys propose recording what you're hearing at the moment over the internet?

Thanks :)

I haven't done this, but I understand the following works.

In xmms go to Options>Preferences

In the Audio I/O plugins tab, highlight the MPEG Layer 1/2/3 plugin and hit configure.

Go to the Streaming tab and then down to Save stream to disk. There you can enable the saving and select the location.

Edit:

Just tried it and it works.
