How to upgrade to Gnome 2.2 in RH8

Hey guys, I want to upgrade gnome on my rh8 install to 2.2...

I grabbed apt-get and synaptic for rpms, however it seems on a few of the repositories with gnome 2.2 that when I did apt-get install gnome-desktop it wanted to remove xfree86 and in one repository, even apt itself...

anyone have any trouble free sources that contain gnome 2.2?

I'm trying to do the same, but I haven't found much help neither. I did find some app that did the install for ya, I think it was called Garnome. I checked it out, but it seemed like too much trouble. Maybe you'd be more optimistic than me? :rolleyes:

I'm still looking for an easier method, perhaps rpm?
