My professor just asked me a really good question today -- is there a free, easy to use and set up, x-windows server that is like vnc, only looks better, that is available (as a server) for Linux (kernel 2.2.16, 2.4 if I have anything to say about it) and Solaris 8? The client has to be able to be run on the lab Win98 machines.
A bit more info -- there are 4 Solaris machines, 440Mhz processors. Don't know much more than that. There are currently 2 machines running Red Hat 7.0 (I didn't set them up, the other 2, which will probably be set up by me, will run the to be released SuSE 7.1). These 4 are Dell's with at least a 450 Mhz PII, all the way up to a 550 PIII. Hard drives/RAM requirements are not really a factor.
thanks
