Hi,
Setting a dns server and was wondering do I change the authority info in the localhost zone file to my nameserver name and add a ns record in it as well?

It depends if you going to have dns lookups on your local lan or if the localhost zone is primaary,secondary,backup...i would suggest you take a look at the DNS howto found on www.linuxdoc.org (http://www.linuxdoc.org) .Hope this helps.
