So there, I got this WLAN card from "level 1" with a Realtek 8180 chip. There are even some Linuxdrivers for it on the Realtek website (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloads1-3.aspx?lineid=2002111&famid=2002111&series=2002121&Software=True).
But now comes the problem: The readme says I have to run Kernel 2.4.18-3. I use slackware 8.1 which uses kernel 2.4.18. Even when I use insmod with the force method the drivers won't load. And ... what is that with the "-3"? I never heard of that before.
Do you have any suggestions for me?
