Thanks for all your help with my problems, but I have one more. I was wondering if I can connect to an ftp site (ftp.symantec.com) without going thru netscape or any browser. With windows98 i used a program called webdrive which lets me map a site as a drive like drive x: for example and then I can treat it like an ordinary folder. I need to do this because I regularly download files from that site and I want to do it automatically by writing a simple batchfile.
How could one do that with linux. Thanks again.
:D

FTP should disconnect you after a certain period of inactivity (unless they don't do that, but most servers do). I'd say to just use a normal FTP client (my favorite is ncftp and bookmark the site you are talking about (as well as whatever folder).
