I've not been using linux for a month now ( i know!!!) but i crashed X (installing drivers improperly) and i'm a newbie so i just waited till i could get my video card. Well i got it now so i was going to put in rh8 but it gave me a monitor probe error and it's getting hard to install the nvidia drivers because it can't find a monitor when trying to re-initiate X...
just to make sure i'm installing the drivers properly...
download the kernel and the glx rpms
install them (i do it by clicking on them)
edit the xf86config by:
removing
load "dri" and "Glcore" i've never seen glcore before in the file
and make sure
load "glx" is there
that's it right???
oh yeah you have to change vesa for nvidia too!!!!
