I have a debian box running samba. I have a default folder made for a few users to share files.
But a problem comes up when one user tries moving/adding files to anohter folder that a different user created.
We have windows 2000 and XP running. On the 2000 computers you can see file permision, but The XP computer is just wierd about what it shows.
I used webmin to configure it, but i can get the smb.conf if you need to see that.
another problem is that the fieserver does not always show up in network neighberhood. We have network maps in windows, and if you type in "\\fileserver" in the address bar it comes up with no problem.
Thanks
David
