Use whatever network config tool Mandrake provides and set the gateway address to whatever ip address ICS is using.
Also add the same gateway address to /etc/resolv.conf.
domain <ICS domain_name>
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx # ICS ip address
Are you using static or dynamic (dhcp) addressing?

I am using RH8.0 and all I did was told it to us a DHCP. There was no special configuring that I had to do on both ends. Linux does not care and microsoft did not screw with the ics to make it hard for none windows machines to connect.

This might help:

Yes, ICS sets up a DHCP server on the ICS machine. You should probably set your Linux box up to be a DHCP client, using whatever tools Mandrake supplies for network configuration.

Suggestion, get a router. They have come down in price and will give you that extra layer of protection. I know this probably isn't the solution, but I perfer this method for sharing a broad band connection among computers. With the built in firewalls and NAT it's as simple as setting your computers up in dhcp and your are surfing the net.
Besides ever see you cable modem activity light blinking like a strobe and no one is using a computer. Those are scans for open ports. Scans of large blocks of ip address happen all the time and script kiddies love those broad band connections.

Checkout the Game forum as you should find links to Linux game sites. www.linux-games.org or www.linuxgames.org is one I believe.
We have a JL Help File on accessing Windows partitions that will certainly help.
Search the JL forums for 'mount fat32' or 'mount vfat' or 'mount ntfs' and you will find loads of previous threads on the topic as it is quite popular.

Thx for the help still. For some reason I cant get those sites to load Ill keep working on it.I know (dont know how) that you can run windows games under Linux b9ut that kinda defeats the purpose thats why I was looking for games that were designed to run on Lynux instead of windows.I am still interested in what it would take to make windows games and Kazaa run on my computer though since their is no other way to make Kazaa run.If anyone has some spare time I would love to hook up on an instant messenger and just bs about what things I "can" do with Linux. And like always thanks for all the help guys.

Sorry as you can probably tell that I don't have or play any games in Linux.
I did a quick G4L search for 'linuxgames' and found the site to be...
www.linuxgames.com

For music swapping you might check out something called giFT. It is supposed to be a good p2p client. I think Limewire also runs on Linux.

LimeWire is Java-based, so yeah, it runs on Linux.
If KaZaA (or however they capitalize it  ) is absolutely required, there are a couple of posts in How I Did It for how to set that up with Wine.
For games, check out the Linux Games forum, specifically the "Linux is a great gaming OS!" thread. There are a LOT of games you can get running natively, and a lot of people have posted what they are using in there.
For example, there is a RtCW Linux installer on Id's FTP site. There are installers for UT (the original) and UT:GoTY on Loki's FTP site (which is amazingly still up). You can still buy a lot of the games Loki ported from places like tuxgames.com, etc. (I got Descent 3 and Rune from there). UT2003 comes with a Linux native installer on CD 3. You can also find Q3 installers floating around.
And of course, linuxgames.com is a good place to look.

Okay posting this before I go look but am going to.I tried downloading some games off Linuxgames.org but am still baffled at trying to figure out how to install them. When I double click them (remember Im a recovering windows addict) it asks me what program I want to use to run them.Im gonna go look through some posts but wanted to say thank you one more time.Im on 3 other Linux boards and havent gotten one response from them yet  .Kinda a let down but this site makes all the diffrence.I still feel kinda like a traitor I configured my desktop to look like windows.Doest seem rite......Im a Windows finatic trying to escape. One more simpler question when I installed I went for the KDE desktop but Im interested in seeing what gnome and the others look like but I cant figure out how to change them over in Mandrake 9.1.Anyone know?

Try this link (http://k12linux.mesd.k12.or.us/using_samba/) for more info and instructions.
There are two helpful graphical utilities that you can use with Samba, SWAT and Linneighborhood. SWAT is an easy-to-use tool for setting up Samba, and Linneighborhood is the equivalent of Windows' Network Neighborhood/ My Network Places.
Oh, and I moved this thread to the networking forum, as it's much more network than hardware related.
