I removed mouse from startup- stupid me

Help, whilst exploring I disabled the mouse from start-up.I entered in a konsole mode and tried to run DrakConf (Mandrake 7.2) but of course I need the mouse. Also I have tried '/ mnt / mouse'but no success, read the 'man mouse' but no such luck as per command to reinstall.Also tried through 'ntsysv' command but this wasn't found on my machine.
Could some one please give me the command to reinstall?

Thanks mindwarp, I tried your suggestion and the machine configured it but still mouse wouldn't work.Finally got into 'nsysv' and configured it for startup-Got it back now!
