im curious if its possible to make the kde panel(s) transparent? and if so, how does one go about doing it? thanks

I don't know if it is possible, but I know of a way to "cheat". Open up your wallpaper in your favorite image editor and crop the bottom portion the same number of pixels as the kicker's height. Then add whatever faded transparent-like effect you like to the image and set this new image as the background image of the kicker.

um that link is for Gnome, not KDE.

anyway to answer the original question. yes you can make the kicker transparent -- go to kde-look.org and take a look through there. there is a patch for it.

The link above, but clicking on 'download' only gives me a screenshot of the desktop with the transparent panel.

Guess it's not ready for release. :confused:
