Is this modem suported by linux (however I don't thik it is), where could I get the drivers for it

Oh I've got mandrake 9.1 beta 3

If your modem says anything about being a winmodem, Linux usually won't have anything to do with it. You're going to have to get a modem that isn't a winmodem. You can check out www.linmodems.org for more information about Linux and modems.

a in modem doesnt necesary mean windows a win modem jsut uses your cpu for internet connecting its a goo d idea to buy a hardware modem isnt anyway and steer vclear of us robotics cuz i dont think they support linux at all

I have a very nice USR 56k external that I've not had a problem with in 4 different distros I've used so far.. I've actually always had USR, had a Hayes 300bps when I was a kid, but since then, USR has never done me wrong; plus, I'm not aware of any other quality externals on the market (i'm sure there's plenty, but they don't have 'em at any comp stores near me; just crappy linksys stuff)
