I have attempted to install ProFTPD.
I found the NHF on the site to explain how to do this. I got stuck, however, on the last few directions.
This is the last instruction that I did:
shsh -s /bin/false ftp
This is the message I received:
Changing shell for ftp.
Warning: '/bin/false' is not listed in /etc/shells
Shell changed.
The next instruction says to:
add /bin/false to the end of /etc/shells
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. I thought that I would need to find "/etc/shells" and add the two directories "/bin" and "/false". I was not able to locate "/etc/shells".
I'm running Red Hat 6.1.
Thanks for any help.
