I have 4 computers at home, 1 of which is a laptop. They're networked together with Linux acting as the server (Samba). My other 3 machines are 98SE and (2) 2000 Pro.

I'm getting AOL+ Satellite Internet soon (hey, can't get DSL or cable modem and AOL+ is the best satellite internet). The AOL+ will, of course, be hooked into a Windows machine as it isn't supported under Linux. My other two Windows machine will share the connections through Windows ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).

My question is, is Linux capable of accessing this ICS somehow?

Thanks.

AFAIK, Windows's Internet Connection Sharing just runs a DHCP server. Correct me if I'm wrong about that. But if that's the case, just configure your Linux network interface to use DHCP, and you should be set.

Actually it can be done with static IP address. One thing I forgot to mention on that post was the windows machine wants to be 192.168.0.1 .

You know that old saying "Anything you can do I can do better"? Well Linux networking is extremely superiot to Windows. Just because AOL doesn't support Linux, doesn't mean it woun't work. My @Home cable modem wasn't supposed to support Linux and here I am. My guess is you should have no problem what so ever getting your Linux server Conected.
