resuming gentoo install

I would like to know if it is at all possible to resume an installation of Gentoo(athlon xp GRP live cd) after it's emerge -u world'd but before the kernel has been compiled? If so, where would be the best point to pick up at? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

pick up right where you left off.

just boot the install CD and then remount everything and chroot it again then continue on from where you were when you stopped.

Thanks! I will try that when I get home, I was concerned that I would have to start the whole process from the beginning again and wasn't looking forward to having to recompile everything because my wife thought in her infinite wisdom that the computer didn't need to be doing anything at five in the morning!
