Oh man this is embarrassing to ask but I have to. If I am screwing around and execute something I shouldn't on my Slack 3.9 box (though I've done this on RH 6.2 too) my screen changes to a mess of non-ascii characters. I can still issues commands and such, but I cannot read the output. How do I change things back without rebooting?

reset

at the prompt. Of course, it won't look like the word reset, but it should get the prompt back to the original state.
