Hello,

I'm installing slackware 8.1... I've had experience installing 8.0, but that's when there was one bootdisk and one compressed rootdisk.

Now there are 5 uncompressed rootdisk images, which I RawWrote to 5 floppies. The bootdisk loads fine, and the 5 floppies load fine, but now it asks me for disk #6!

If anybody's recently installed 8.1 using rootdisks, can you please tell me what the 6th disk should be? I would do a little trial and error, but each time I want to test a new disk I'd have to boot xp, rawrite it, then restart, and load 6 floppies before finding out if it'd work. Then repeat. >=/

Thanks.

I've never tried Slackware myself and of course cannot give you a definite answer.

Anything in the documentation either on the installation cd where the diskette images reside or on Slack's ftp servers that tell you exactly what bootdisks are required and where to find them all?

I'm guessing your not able to do a CD install.
I used the 8.1 iso to make a CD and booted from that with no problems, that is if your computer can boot from CD.
