Mandrake 8.0 Question

Im having trouble getting Control Centre to save my settings. I select a printer and it prints OK for the session. But when I power up again the printer doesnt work and I have to reset it again. This also happens with thefile permissions tab ie. low, medium and high. It has reset itself back to low. Ive tried many things to get it to save the setting but it wont.
Also how would I disable Tiny firewall. Ive installed portsentry and think that I should uninstall Tiny to prevent conflicts.
Its two questions I know but hope you can help.

Have you tried making the changes as root?

I don't know anything about tiny but if you installed it from rpm the standard way of uninstalling an rpm is "rpm filename.rpm -e", or you could just stop the script from running, wherever it is trying to run it from.

Thanks for your reply. Yes Im logged in as root. In Mandrake you cant get to Control centre without being Root. On the firewall Tiny Firewall comes with the package as part again of the control centre. I wish it was just an RPM I could uninstall.
This is a Mandrake problem.
