distro for 386 DX33 4MB ram

Can anyone suggest a distro that will run on a 386 DX33 4MB ram? Perferably an xsystem with gui if there is enough cpu power there (still a newbie). I want to use it as a firewall or web/mail/ftp server

You may, given enough patients and skill and time, be able to get a modern distro on it. I got Slack 7.1 on a 486sx33 laptop with just under 4mb of ram. Check over in the "How I did it" forum.. look for "486 torture". Forget about X or even bash - you will need to slim down everything, especially if you have a small hard drive.

*Not* recommended for a new-bie, but if you really wanna do it, do it.


Also, if you just want firewalling, there may be a floppy distro that will do that for you on that hardware - I don't/haven't used one of those tho.
