I went back to linux for the hell of it this weekend and I got wine working and CS installed. Whenever I launch into it my screen gets all garbled and I have to reboot. I updated to the latest driver from nvidia (after much hell) hehe anyway any tips or suggestions?

You should have gotten the NVIDIA drivers prior, and then opengl support would be enabled. And why the heck are you using WINE over WineX? Do a google search on 'the Mandrake eXPeriance' and 'lhl linux half life'. Congrats on coming back to linux, but please RTFM first! ;) Your post is also very vague, you need to specify what distro you are using, and whether or not you think your hardware has to do with it. In short RTFM!

Sorry!

Red Hat 8.0

I just discovered winex today at transgaming.com and subscribed. I am going to install it when I get home. Hopefully winex will fix me up?

Using the WineX RPMs and then installing CS is going to be almost as smooth as installing in Windows :)

Just launching the game might be tricky...post later if you have a problem and I'll post my 'script' to launch it

You could have just done it from CVS but whatever...

The main question is why would you want WineX to play Counter-Strike, when you could be playing Tactica Ops nativly? ;)

Tactical Ops beats CS hands down!!! :O)
