Hi...

I am a newbie...

I have a laptop Compaq n600c, with:
ESS Allegro
Lucent win modem
Intel PRO/100 VM Network Connection

It seems that all of the above share irq 11...

This is not a problem in windows, but in Linux (slackware 8.1) I get no sound and the NIC only works for a couple of seconds. (I have not tried the modem).

There doesnt seem to be any way to change the IRQ.

appreciate the help

You need to disable Plug and Play in your bios...... this will do wonders for all of your PCI devices.

There is no such option in the bios...

Anything in the bios to change the resources each device uses?

I know in some of the recent Deskpro (desktop) models at work, I can change the IRQ for USB, Audio, Video etc.
