I am trying to load linux from a burned iso and/or a copy from "cheaplinuxcds". When I boot up (i set cdrom as first boot device) it says the cdrom failed to boot. Then I hit F8 to get to a dos prompt and try to do d :(thats the cd drive) and it says "invalid drive specification".
Can someone help me just get started? I have a list from a friend where and what to do after I get it loaded but I cant even load it. I got fips on the a: and it wont format the HDD either. Thanks alot guys.....

Most distros have disk-images on the cd that you can make a boot floppy from... have you read the README file or the INSTALL file?

I installed the cd drivers in dos. Its now reading the disk, but while loading anaconda it locks up, well the screen goes blank and nothing happens?
