This is probably no big deal for most of you...
I got RH and Slack installed and dual (trip incl. Win) booting with lilo. Pretty cool, I think.
But, why you ask? Dunno...challange? I'd like to get Debian going to, but I do not think the install likes my crummy HW.
I wanted to be able to switch between the two and see if RH is really the bogo folks say it is...
Any way, I have a display problem in X (slack) I can't resolve...
There is a "line" that is aprox. .25 in. wide that runs verticle on the display...it seems to be associated with the mouse. The line only appears when there is an open window and is the same color as the background.
This appeared in the defalt install 3.3.6. I installed 4.1 in the hopes it would overcome it...no luck.
I have played with the resolutions and the monitor timing...no luck.
No problem here with RH.
If I can get rid of that annoyance and figure out how to NOT have a virtual desktop bigger than the screen, I think i will dump RH..
One more thing...RH and Slack are on the same HD...I have set up two swap partitions...is this neccesary or could they share the same one?
Maybe I will buy a 30 gig HD and install every known version....then I can be REAL confused...
