I'm using Grip to rip and encode my cds to mp3s, and I tried using the rip+encode tool. Everything worked fine, but when it finished I could not find where it put the output file. Does anyone know the setting in Grip that I must change to tell it where to put my mp3s?

Also, I keep hearing about .ogg music files. What is a program that can pull .ogg's from my music cds? How do .ogg's compare in size to .mp3's?

try going to the mp3 tab in grip

you should see "MP3 file format"

~/mp3/%A/%d/%n.mp3

above is the way mine is set.

grip should create a mp3 directory in your home directory, and probably a ogg directory too if you use ogg files. if you want to change location, just change ~/mp3 to whatever directory you want -- ie- ~/ means your home directory
