okay...been playing with linux again now for a few days..used to play with it a year ago or so but stopped..life to busy...have one lg hd....first 3 gig to win98 already...put linux on next 3 gig....i did make a boot disk for RH 7 and it boots fine off of the floppy. Can i now install lilo...i tired liloconf but get errors about the above 1024 stuff....help please....looking forward to using linux again...and hate booting off of floppy....do i need to upgrade my lilo since i hear the newer one u can boot from above 1024?....

Add this to your /etc/lilo.conf file

lba=32

And that "should" fix it.

actually, no distro, that i know of, currently ships a full release with the latest lilo (though >=1024 cylinder support has been around for a long time).
you should upgrade lilo if your version isn't new enough.

I will try the lilo.conf addition when i get home tonight. But also..since linux is already installed and i boot off a floppy..how to i get lilo unto the mbr...linuxconf?
