Finally got 7.0 installed and running. And man is it sweeeet. I did have to do a full install to be safe but that will change as I play. So far I haven't much but it is nice and tight. The package installs and simple and do not produce the dependency errors of RPM's. Going to try X-Console's SlackUp tonight. Got some things to work out (like none of the icons work) but I can handle that. Just wanted to add one thing....

 SLACK

Only prob. I had with Slackup, is that the GLIBC_2.2 error - screwed me all up, wouldn't even let me do a

I haven't used SlackUp, but autoslack works fine. You can get if off the slackware-current ftp in the unsupported directory.

:o I usally download the packages that I need from the current directory and remove and install manually :o . removepkg & installpkg or pkgtool. Should the old pkgs be remove or do I just need to install the new 1's?

Nice quote Blackknight :D

Good Q. Although it's unsupported, I've found autoslack to work pretty well for this sort of thing, and in lieu of that, use 'upgradepkg'. There may be a few isolated instances where you want to completely remove a package and it's config files before upgrading...
