OK I'm a beginner. How com when I click on a link to download an rpm, instead of getting a dialogue box asking me where I want to download the file to, I get get a page of weird looking code with no further directions? (I have a duel boot system. When I click on the link in windows, I do get a dialogue box, but I don't think it would do any good to download it in windows).

Thanks. One more question- can I create a subdirectory by making uo a name and typing in the "selction" box? What is the "filter" line for?

Create the subdirectory first (through the terminal), then edit the path in the selection box.

What is the "filter" line for?


Change the file extension listed in the filter line, then click on the filter button.

It will show you existing files in the currently selected directory with that extension.
