What you ought to do is buy a Linux hardDrive and dual-boot. Best-of-both-worlds... Johnny_dynamite 02-05-2003, 01:20 AM im sick of microsoft and their monopoly hlrguy 02-05-2003, 01:25 AM You can always dual boot and have the option of Windows or Linux when you start your computer. That said... mp3, mpeg, images, text files, all standard stuff, 100% documents, 97%. OpenOffice does a good job on *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt. M$ Publisher - ZERO, NIL, NADA, but not even different versions are compatible. Viseo - not yet. Games - not without a lot of work. I don't use Windows, have never had Windows and have never failed to find a native program that does what I want. Like I said, keep Windows for gaming, take Linux for a spin. Recommend Suse 8.1 or Mandrake 9.0. I would wait on Redhat 8.1 if you are set on Redhat. Even more desktop work being done. Redhat 8.0, what I use, is fantastic, but 8.1 is pending, I would expect. hlrguy hlrguy 02-05-2003, 01:26 AM I always think of something just after I hit the post.
