On Dos there is a command "tracert" that maps
all the servers that are between the target and yourself. what is the Linux equivalent??

As an aside:

Using "apropos trace" or "apropos route" would have found the traceroute command. I find it invaluable when looking for the program I need.

Often, I find lots of other useful commands while looking through the list.

traceroute i believe... not too sure though... you might want to check up on that
