PS/2 mouse with a serial adaptor, Can't get it to work.

I have a Yahoo! 4d mouse ps/2 mouse(dont laugh!) with a serial adaptor hooked to it to fin into my old old old motherboard. Drake 7.2 detects Both a serial mouse and a ps/2 mouse. I tried generic ps/2 and serial in linuxconf but nither work under Xwindows.

What should I do to get my mouse working.
