Instructions anywhere for installin LiVid and its pieces?

Since im still pretty new to linux, i dont want to mess things up by guessing, so does anyone know of a good set of instructions for installing it and its pieces (mpeg3dec, oms, omi, etc.)?

Have you tried following the how-to they have on their website?

and i tried following the wiki, but it didnt help much.

I had problems with the wiki too.

I was moving along ok with the instructions and trouble-shooting for compiling from source, but could use a lot more guidance on the config file. I'm pretty sure that's where I'm still hung up.

Also, I couldn't get past square one with the omi compilation (the gui interface).

I'm going to wait a while and let this one get a little more 'refined.'
